Pencerah Nusantara (PN) is an award-winning program focused on strengthening Primary Health Care, established in 2012. We provide solutions to help PHC deliver care for everyone, working closely with local communities to tailor interventions to their specific needs.

Initiated by CISDI, an Indonesian nonprofit dedicated to health sector development through research, advocacy and participatory interventions, the programme supports the government in reaching underserved communities: people living in remote, frontier and outermost (3T) areas, pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency, and children under five with nutritional problems.

This profile traces the programme’s journey from testing and implementing a strengthening model across 16 districts and cities (2012–2019), through the COVID-19 pandemic response (2020) and the scale-up of PUSPA across West Java (2021–2023), to the current PN PRIMA 2 phase (2024–2026). It sets out CISDI’s four lines of work (capacity building for health workers and community health workers, social innovation developed by CHWs, screening and community mobilisation, and information system development including the PN PRIMA app), together with the results reported for the programme period.
