Unequal healthcare access across Indonesia remains a constant obstacle to health service delivery. This is particularly apparent when comparing healthcare access between the West, Central, and Eastern parts of Indonesia. Knowing these conditions, there is a need for accelerating healthcare access accross Indonesia, in particular for regions that are left behind. This study will look closely at the roles of Puskesmas in helping to accelerate healthcare access in the country. We will look at the current efforts and processes in increasing healthcare access to all populations, as well as identify the obstacles to achieving healthcare equality across the country. To understand this, this study will evaluate the forementioned efforts and obstacles to help provide recommendations in increasing healthcare service delivery through the role of the Puskesmas.

This evaluation will focus on the processes, achievements, and efforts to accelerate health services in western, central, and eastern Indonesia while qualitatively identifying inequalities between regions. 

Evaluating efforts in accelerating health care service in Indonesia; Case study of Puskesmas in West, Central, and Eastern Indonesia

This study aims to map the future challenges and policies that must be prepared for human resource planning in the health sector in Indonesia and provide input for the concept of reforming the National Health System in the 2022 RKP. This study uses five consecutive phases of Miles to guide the foresight process. Consists of pre-foresight (scoping), recruitment (or participation), generation, action and renewal. By using the foresight method, the policy recommendations produced by this study can correctly address the structural challenges that have been an obstacle to the delivery of transformative policies.

This study aims to understand the demand side needs and challenges to access telemedicine and primary health care (PHC) services to design telemedicine solutions. The project will include: a) landscape analysis of the current disease burdents and health services in different geographical regions, and b) baseline survey using quantitative-qualitative sequential design methods to assess the healthcare access, users and providers perception of telehealth consultation, and patient journey in Indonesia. The findings will be disseminated in the form of research reports and policy briefs to relevant stakeholders and BMGF to support PHC foundations and/or innovations.

This is a randomised controlled trial which aims to to understand the barriers that prevent widespread vaccination and find strategies that will work best for rural communities with limited awareness, education levels, cultural barriers, and susceptibility to misinformation. This research is also aimed tto increase the adoption rates of the publicly available free vaccines among the targeted beneficiaries in a cost-effective manner.

Promoting Vaccine Take-Up and Tackling Vaccine Hesitancy: The Role of Local Health Workers and Leaders in Indonesia

This qualitative study aims to identify conditions, challenges and support for the implementation of excise policies on sweetened beverages and obtan a different view of the tax/excise application process for sweetened drinks in several Southeast Asian countries (Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore) and Non-Southeast Asia (UK, Mexico, Australia) compare to Indonesia context. Narrative review was used to describe the country's comparison study. For the identification study, we held focus group discussions (FGD) to several groups consist of policy makers, experts, NGO/youth movements, and consuments aged 18-65 years old.
