The Advocacy and Community Engagement Officer is a field-based position reporting to the Field Coordinator, serving as a strategic liaison between the program and the local ecosystem in Kendal District. The role works closely with local government, Community Health Centers (Puskesmas), village-level health cadres, and community groups to strengthen collaboration and support program implementation.
This position goes beyond administrative coordination. The Officer actively builds trust, facilitates multi-stakeholder dialogue, and ensures that community voices—including those of women and vulnerable groups—are meaningfully reflected in the implementation of the Integrated Primary Healthcare (ILP) and Village/Sub-district Health Service Efforts (UPKD/K) initiatives.
On a day-to-day basis, the Officer collaborates across multiple functions, coordinating with the Advocacy (POL) and Communication (CommEng) teams to align engagement and messaging strategies, with the MERL team to document implementation learning, and with the Finance & Administration team to support field operations. The ability to navigate cross-functional collaboration effectively is essential to the role.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in the field, experienced in building relationships with diverse stakeholders, and demonstrates strong social awareness and sensitivity to local community dynamics. They should also be able to translate field observations into meaningful communication and advocacy materials that support evidence-informed program implementation.
