What is CISDI Journalism Awards?
CISDI Journalism Awards is an annual journalistic award event organised by the Center for Indonesia's Strategic Development Initiatives since 2023.
CISDI Journalism Awards seeks to collect the best journalistic works on the theme of noncommunicable diseases and introduce them to the wider public.
Non-communicable diseases are types of diseases that are not caused by infection or are not transmitted from one person to another. Non-communicable diseases generally develop slowly and last for a long time (chronic). Unhealthy lifestyles, genetic factors, and environmental conditions are the driving factors for a person to develop a non-communicable disease.
The Ministry of Health revealed that non-communicable diseases are responsible for 75 per cent of deaths in Indonesia. Based on this background, CISDI organised CISDI Journalism Awards 2025 as an effort to increase public understanding and awareness through media coverage of non-communicable diseases, including their causes, root causes, and coping strategies.
