The Qualitative Field Researcher will play an intensive role in the collection of qualitative and secondary data, as well as in supporting the participatory implementation of related activities with communities, health workers, Posyandu cadres, and local health offices. Data collection will be conducted through participatory group discussions using visual tools, semi-structured interviews, and field observations. In addition, the Field Researcher will handle research administration, recruit participants, and undergo training prior to data collection. Throughout the assignment, the Field Researcher will engage closely with various stakeholders involved in the research project. Presence in the research location is required and will be essential to ensure the smooth implementation of the study.

Contract Period: May 25, 2026 – March 5, 2027

Research Location: Medan City, North Sumatra

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in health, public health, anthropology, social sciences, or other relevant fields. A Master’s degree in a related field is an advantage.
Experience in qualitative data collection (either in fieldwork or academic settings).
Strong interest in community-based program development.
Experience or exposure to Puskesmas, Posyandu services, and patients with diabetes or hypertension is an advantage.
Based in one of the research locations, or willing to travel and stay in the area during the data collection period.
Proficient in using computers and Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet), with no communication constraints (reliable internet connection).
Willing to communicate and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Non-smoker or willing to stop smoking if selected.
