In 2021, Indonesia is estimated to have 19.5 million people with diabetes who will have to undergo treatment for the rest of their lives at no small cost. Meanwhile, the costs incurred have even reached 21.2 trillion rupiah. Ironically, Indonesia is ranked third highest as a country with the amount of consumption of Packaged Sweetened Drinks (MBDK), which is known to be one of the causes of diabetes. CISDI also highlighted this issue as an aspect of social determinants of health.
