Shaping a new future for the National Health System is an increasingly important and urgent agenda. The COVID-19 pandemic has served as a strong reminder that robust health sector planning is essential as a foundation for effective implementation and monitoring of development. A top-down and technocratic approach has dominated health development planning practices. This approach often results in incomplete mapping and policies unresponsive to real needs on the ground.
These conditions have promoted health system reform as a strategic issue that CISDI continues to advocate for. CISDI believes that a fair, resilient, and pro-people health system can only be achieved through inclusive, evidence-based planning that involves actors across sectors.
