This study addresses the important issues of low cigarette excise tax rates and ineffective tobacco control policies in Indonesia. Focusing on the impact of cigarette prices on smoking cessation behavior among adult smokers in Indonesia, the study employs duration analysis by constructing a pseudo-panel data set from the Global Adult Tobacco Survey 2021. The findings reveal a strong positive correlation between cigarette price increases and the likelihood of smoking cessation among adult smokers in Indonesia, emphasizing the importance of more effective tobacco taxation policies.
